My name is Melissa Beaufoy and I am Registered Nurse who has found a great passion in helping others. I truly enjoy working with the pediatric population and love to make patients smile, despite their current medical conditions. I knew at a young age that I wanted to become a nurse. I had a neighborhood friend who had severe physical and cognitive disabilities and all I wanted to do is become her friend. I enjoyed taking the time to understand how to communicate with her; I carry this lesson into my practice now. I want to find the level where I can reach my patient and their family members.
With my nursing programs (ADN and BSN), I have had amazing experiences which led me to be the nurse I am today. With my ADN program I was able to do a medical mission trip to San Ignacio, Belize, which was very eye opening. I also was able to do clinical rotations at HCMC in-patient adult psychiatric ward, Amplatz Children’s Hospital on the hematology/ oncology/ medical & surgical unit, Fairview Southdale birth and delivery unit, and Fairview Ridges medical surgical unit. With my BSN program, I had an opportunity to do my public health rotation at Stillwater Oak Park Heights Prison, which is a level 5. This was very eye opening to me and I learned a lot. My education has created a great foundation for my professional nursing career.
I am very dedicated to my patients and enjoy improving their quality of life, or at the very least brighten their day. I am an active learner and always looking at nursing journals, nursing articles and news on medical updates or changes. Please contact me with any questions or interest. Thank you for taking the time and looking at my website.
